On Site Quotes leave Customers Worse Off

On-site quoting by some companies for Rubbish and Junk removal presents many challenges for customers, often leaving them with limited options and a less-than-ideal experience with customers claiming some large overseas based JUNK Companies are last minute price gouging.

Firstly, on-site quotes require customers to set aside time for an in-person visit, which can be inconvenient and time-consuming. Customers may need to adjust their schedules to accommodate the service provider’s availability, causing potential delays in getting their junk removed. This lack of flexibility can be frustrating, particularly for those needing a quick or immediate solution.

Secondly, on-site quotes can lead to uncertainty and anxiety about the final cost. Customers may receive unexpected charges after the JUNK  has already been assessed, with little opportunity to compare prices or negotiate. This practice can feel like a trap, as the customer is often left with no alternative but to accept the price, especially if the junk needs to be removed urgently.

Additionally, on-site quoting limits transparency. Customers might not have the opportunity to see a clear, itemized breakdown of costs, which can lead to confusion and dissatisfaction. Without upfront pricing, customers cannot easily budget or make informed decisions, reducing their options and making them feel compelled to accept whatever terms are offered.

Finally many JUNK Companies that appear to offer a no obligation on site quote for JUNK removal often turn up last minute and provide a quote that’s excessively more than industry rates knowing the client will have little or no alternative due to time constraints. Tenants particularly leave final cleanup to the last day of occupancy with JUNK Companies then taking advantage of the fact they know it would be near impossible for the client to get another company to collect on the spot. Many reviews of such companies scream claims of last minute price gouging or negotiating where the JUNK Company starts off with an exorbitant quote to collect then reducing only slightly leaving the clients little option but to proceed.

I have used Got Junk before and was reasonably happy. This time however I had to ring head office several times as the driver did not arrive in the window between 12 and 2.30. They arrived 2 hours late after 4.00 pm and then quoted nearly a $1000. I decided to ring a skip company (Metro Skip Hire) who will drop a Bin at 9.00 tomorrow and the driver will go for coffee while I fill the bin and then return at 10.00 am for just $450 – I will never use 1800 Got-Junk again
